Sharing Love and Warmth on Independence Day

This Independence Day, we discovered the truest freedom- the freedom to love, to serve, and to bring joy. On 12th August, the corridors of the Earth Saviour Foundation – An Old Age Home, Bandhwari Village, Faridabad–Gurgaon Road, echoed with music, laughter, and the gentle hum of conversation as the students of our school, led by our Principal Ms. Ritika Anand, spent a day with its residents- many of them ailing and abandoned by their families.

We carried with us flour, pulses, sugar, and rice — but what we truly offered were moments of connection: the songs we sang together, the meals we prepared side by side and the stories we exchanged over warm smiles.

For us, this visit was more than just a service activity — it was our way of commemorating the spirit of Independence Day. We realised that true freedom is not only about our nation’s independence, but also about the freedom to love without boundaries, to serve without expectation, and to bring dignity and joy to every life we touch.

As we held hands and listened to their life stories, we understood that sometimes the simplest acts — a shared laugh, a gentle word, a helping hand — are the ones that stay with you forever. We went there to give… yet we returned with our hearts fuller than ever, carrying lessons of love, resilience, and gratitude.
